NABIS Knowledge and Communications brings together the areas of business outside the Forensic and Intelligence arenas as well as the merging of the ACPO Criminal Use of Firearms Secretariat.
NABIS Knowledge and Communications is tasked with;
- Developing the liaison opportunities between NABIS and its partners.
- Developing & delivering an integrated national communications and media strategy.
- Establishing, capturing and developing best practice in relation to gun crime.
- Academic liaison.
- Legislative development.
- Technology development.
NABIS Knowledge and Communications provides essential support both within NABIS as well as to forces and agencies involved in the fight against gun crime. By ensuring a coherent and consistent approach to tackling firearms criminality is developed though enhanced processes, professional practice development and media support, NABIS provides UK law enforcement with a Centre of Excellence in relation to firearms criminality. Knowledge and Communication is working together with the other key NABIS functions to support and co-ordinate operational activity wherever possible. This ensures that where opportunity exists maximum value is achieved. Through either personal contact or the monitoring of outcomes NABIS will strive for continuity across the entire operating model.
NABIS Business Services also supports the wider NABIS organisation, including the NABIS Hubs by providing essential administrative and financial support.
