Police Appeal After Shots Fired In Toxteth
17th March 2015
Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses following a firearms incident in Toxteth on Sunday, 15 March.
At about 11.55pm, a report was received that shots had been fired at an address on Kinnaird Street.
Officers attended and found damage to a front window of a property consistent with a shotgun discharge.
No one was injured during the incident.
The scene was sealed for forensic examination, house-to-house enquiries are underway and patrols have been stepped up in the area to reassure the local community.
An investigation into the full circumstances of the incident is continuing.
Chief Inspector Clare Jenkins said: "Our inquiries into this incident are still at an early stage, although at this time we believe it was targeted.
"We won't tolerate people who use firearms anywhere in Merseyside and we will be relentless in our efforts to bring those responsible to justice.
"We believe a motorbike with two people on may have been in the area around the time of the incident and I would urge anyone who thinks they may have seen it or knows who may have been riding it to come forward.
"I would also appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious on Kinnaird Street or the surrounding area to get in touch with us."
Anyone with information is urged to call MSOC officers on 0800 230 0600 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
